Melissa Raftis graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Victoria with an LLB and was subsequently admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia in August 2001.
Melissa joined Shann Family Lawyers in May 2007 and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Melissa completed her articles at Morrison & Sawyers Lawyers in Kyabram and worked there until May 2002.
Following her employment with Morrison & Sawyers, Melissa was employed at Victorian Legal Aid for five years; and in 2005, was promoted to Senior Family Lawyer at the Goulburn Regional Office.
She was also involved in the provision of community legal education and involved in the Goulburn Valley Young Lawyers group and Women Lawyers Group.
Melissa's work at Legal Aid involved children's issues, property settlement, child protection, court advocacy and intervention orders.
Since commencing work in Western Australia Melissa has continued to practice exclusively in family law, with a particular focus on children's issues and property settlement matters.
